Miss Margaret Smith, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Bowman Smith was b. near Waveland, Montgomery County, Indiana April 28, 1834. She departed this life Oct 15, 1909 at the age of 75 years 5 months and 15 days. She united with the Antioch Christian Church near Waveland when 15 and lived true to the faith until her death. Her Church life covered a period of 60 years. Margaret had made her home for several years with her sister, Mrs. W. F. Booe, of Crawfordsville and had been an invalid for five or six years being confined to her bed a great portion of that time. She was of a family off 13 children, all of whom preceded her to the great beyond except Mrs. Booe with whom she lived. Margaret was loved by all who knew her and through all her sickness and suffering she was gentle and patient to the last moment when life went back to the father above. Those attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. & Mrs. AL Courtney and William Jarvis from Waveland; Mrs. Ennis Coyner from Colfax; Mrs. Virgin, Clark's Hill; Mrs. Charles Heiss, Joliet Ill; John Bridsell and wife, Waynetown; George Booe, Hillsboro and Mr. Chatman, Bloomingdale. - kbz
